What is Lewisham Giving?

Businesses, funders, the Council and residents all give. Lewisham residents decide where it lands. Together we make sure resources reach the people, places and networks that can turn them into real change.

We are proud to be a part of London’s Giving – a movement that is taking hold across London and is mobilising communities at a grassroots level to act to strengthen their boroughs.

  • £ 236,647
distributed in grants to community groups this year
  • 500 +
    businesses engaged in local giving
  • 200 +
    residents supporting community-led action
  • 90
    residents into meaningful volunteering placements

How it works

  1. People give

Businesses, residents, funders and the Council all give to Lewisham Giving. Some give once, some give regularly, some sponsor a specific theme or place.

  2. Residents decide

Panels of Lewisham residents review applications from local community groups, hear from applicants, and decide together where the money should go.

  3. Lewisham thrives

Funded projects deliver real change in their neighbourhoods. Funders see the impact, residents see their decisions land, community groups get the support they need.

Partner with us

We work with corporate partners, developers and funders to design social value delivery that responds to what Lewisham residents actually need. Not what an off-the-shelf ESG framework says they should need.

That means resident-led decisions, credible reporting, and lasting local impact. It also means partnerships that build long-term local infrastructure rather than one-off transactions.

Whether you’re delivering Section 106 commitments, ESG-aligned investment, or a corporate CSR partnership, we can help you turn commitments into visible, lasting change in the borough.

What we offer

  • Section 106 delivery grounded in resident co-design
  • Corporate CSR with credible impact reporting
  • Employee engagement and skilled volunteering
